I must say I'm really impressed by this piece. I like how the Dark lines are all nice and clean. I love how you did the glowing eyes and the glow around its hands. The shading in this picture is wonderful like that of the anime it also reminds me of Wind Waker's shading a little and I love that type of shading. The texture on the tongue is very unique and fitting. It actually looks like Haunter is coming out of the picture and haunt you. Just the background isn't too bad. I like how you did black on the bottom but the green just doesn't fit to my opinion. Perhaps something like a dark blue or a darker purple to fit Haunters type better. For originality I'll give you four and a half stars since Haunter doesn't belong to you. Keep up the good work. at art.
Haunter is my favorite pokemon. You did a fantastic job amplifying it as a sinister character by the shading's direction, coming down from light to dark and placing Haunter's face in the darkest shading regions. The contrast of the dark tones with the vibrant eye and hand glows draws a great deal of attention to the piece, and makes the pokemon more interesting. However, I think there is room for improvement with the pose and expression here, despite Haunter being basically a spikey blob. The foreshortening of the left spikes is a little off and makes Haunter look more like a flat face than his original design does. His original design pushes the spikes more back (which draws more attention to his face and makes him seem more like he's flying forward rather than exploding), similar to the spikes you've drawn on Haunter's right side. Saying that, I don't think the left spikes follow suit. The pose could be more dynamic, to really drive in these awesome contrasts with the menacing color scheme, and to solidify the character's evil and ghostly nature. I love the addition of the tongue because it's a feature most of the games' sprites removed. It adds to the color palette here and correctly shows Haunter as a sort of sadistic prankster rather than a truly evil pokemon. All in all though, the expression could be improved with more animation in the eyes and mouth.
